AI models on OnlyFans — the future of adult entertainment?

Hello, community! Today, artificial intelligence powers tons of impressive use cases that let you generate profit with minimal costs. How much you can actually earn depends solely on how much time you put in.

Earning with AI models on OnlyFans is no exception. In fact, by creating accounts fully generated with AI, you can make thousands of dollars per month. But how legal and safe is this, really? Let’s unpack it.

Before we begin, a quick reminder: we recently covered how to make money on OnlyFans. Recommended reading!

What does the method involve?

So how does this all work? Honestly — it’s as straightforward as it gets. All you need is to generate a set of photos for the account, then monetize it through private chats and custom photos for individual buyers.

To understand how common this is, you can find a huge number of ready-made prompts online that let you assemble a portfolio in as little as 10 minutes.

However, to avoid sanctions (we’ll discuss those shortly), affiliates take it a step further. In addition to basic generation, which isn’t too hard to detect, they also use other techniques:

  1. Deepfakes. Using famous faces — or just their bodies, which is equally relevant here. A similar technique is faceswap, which is also widely used to create OF content;
  2. Fully generated content. Simple enough: images created from scratch by a neural network.

Creating content with AI is very easy. As noted, you’ll find plenty of prompts online, so you barely need to think.

Sometimes the “models” are real people, but they use AI to “upgrade” themselves a bit. That’s not exactly our topic (unless you want to use your own content to earn), but it exists. In short: don’t trust everything you see on OnlyFans.

Next, we’ll use our hard skills to drive traffic to the account.

Finding traffic

The most interesting — and the hardest — part is traffic. OnlyFans is still an adult niche, albeit a relatively light one, so moderators scrutinize creative assets closely. And since the content is generated, moderation can make life difficult.

One of the main traffic sources for you can be Twitter. Right now, it’s arguably the most tolerant platform for driving free traffic. The flow is simple: create a model account, post content there, add a link to your OF (or alternatives), and actively participate in trending topics. It takes a lot of time, but costs are minimal.

Then comes Instagram. Here it’s important not to go overboard with creatives to avoid moderator attention. Still, Instagram opens extra traffic opportunities — for example, collabs with other models. They won’t do it for free, of course, but the spend can quickly turn into profit if you collaborate with a model who has an active audience.

TikTok is also used to funnel to OnlyFans, but it’s risky. Your account can get banned at any moment, wiping out all your effort — time and money alike.

Another option is traffic from messengers. You’ve probably seen the so-called “porn bots” swarming comment sections under fresh posts in large communities. There aren’t many solid case studies on how effective this is; we also can’t claim those accounts live long enough to be profitable. Still, messengers shouldn’t be ignored — they remain a strong source of free traffic.

So, for now: Twitter remains the primary source of free traffic for OnlyFans pages. Alternatives exist, but they generally lag behind Elon Musk’s platform. Choose wisely!

How to monetize the traffic?

We have the basic algorithm: create a portfolio for the AI model, then drive traffic. But where do we send it?

Even though we’re talking about OnlyFans here, you should consider similar platforms too. The best alternatives are Fanvue and Fansly. They differ not just in name, but also in:

  • Content requirements. Some are more tolerant of AI than others. Current cases show that when monetizing traffic on Fanvue, you risk not getting paid if you use video content, since it’s harder to prove it wasn’t generated by AI but created by a real person. Without that proof, payouts may be denied;
  • Monetization models. Some rely only on paid subscriptions. Others offer paid streaming, tipping for custom content, etc.;
  • Fees. Different platforms take different cuts, which can significantly affect your ROI.

To maximize profits, pick the platform that fits your strategy. Relying only on subscriptions is a losing plan — you’ll struggle to cover basic costs. Expect to earn elsewhere too, e.g., through paid DMs or streaming.

You can also monetize AI models via other platforms like Boosty, Patreon, or BuyMeACoffee — perfect if you don’t want to send traffic beyond Twitter. This can help bypass limitations found on OnlyFans, Fansly, and similar platforms.

Most importantly — is it legal? In Ukraine, producing erotic content still hasn’t been decriminalized, despite a draft law having existed for ages. Because of this, the state loses not only revenue but also real models.

For example, the well-known adult actress Josephine Jackson left the country at the time of writing, saying she faced a real risk ranging from fines to prison time. She wrote on Twitter that the lack of adequate regulation at the legislative level was the reason she left Ukraine.

Similar situations may occur in other countries with comparable regulatory gaps.

As for how platforms treat AI content, in most cases it’s allowed, but with restrictions. For example, the content must not violate copyrights. Using images “in the style of” a famous creator — like Miyazaki-style animations (which was once possible when generating images in ChatGPT) — is definitely prohibited.

Generated content should be labeled. That may turn off a chunk of observant users who won’t pay for images they could generate themselves. Sure, you can ignore the rule — but be ready for verification, especially when you try to withdraw earnings. You’ll need to have your documents in order, etc. They might be required.

Conclusion

AI models are increasingly competing with real models. There are many reasons, but the main one is that people aren’t as smart as they think they are. They’re happy to chat with guys hiding behind a cute AI face — and pay real money for it. Welcome to the future!
