Is it realistic to get free traffic from pornhub?

Hello, community! Who among us doesn’t enjoy some time on the “yellow YouTube”? Unless you’re one of those rare folks who’ve watched everything there and gone looking for temptation elsewhere. Either way, today we’ve got a business proposition. What if we told you that Pornhub can bring you not only short-term pleasure, but also a solid paycheck? And all thanks to free traffic — our favorite kind.

Before we dive in, a quick reminder: we’ve already explained how free traffic differs from paid traffic. Be sure to check it out!

Why Pornhub?

Let’s start with the obvious: why should anyone drive traffic from Pornhub? A bit of reflection first.

Back when I was in university, our media studies professor used to say that the internet was invented by porn studios. His “proof”? Stats showing that nearly half of the internet’s content was porn.

Turns out he wasn’t that far off. Even a BBC study from the early 2010s estimated that around 37% of internet content is porn.

But what we care about most is how much traffic this content generates. Let’s take Pornhub as an example. According to last year’s data, Pornhub ranked 19th in the world’s most visited websites (SimilarWeb), and 8th according to Semrush.

That makes the “yellow YouTube” the most visited adult website, with over 1.8 billion visits per month. Next is XVideos, with 1.36 billion monthly visitors — half a billion less.

As for traffic source: according to Statista, most users access the site via mobile — 2 to 2.5 times more than desktop visits.

Next interesting point — GEO. The U.S. leads by far in traffic supply. So if you’re hunting for essentially free Tier-1 traffic, this might just be a gold mine!

We also have 2021 data for Europe, showing that over 60% of Pornhub users are male.

And from Pornhub’s own report, we learn that 50%+ of traffic comes from users aged 18–34, 17% are aged 35–44, and the rest are older.

So what does our ideal user look like? A 25-year-old man, likely searching for a partner, spending time watching adult content. What can we offer him? Obviously — dating and adult offers.

What and How to Promote on Pornhub?

Many well-known brands already advertise on Pornhub — and not just adult offers. For example, U.S. users might spot Burger King banners. Meanwhile, some videos show off Russian bookmaker merch or online casino ads. Remember — real Ukrainians don’t get aroused by that kind of thing!

But that’s all paid advertising — expensive and not ideal for us. So how do we get free traffic from the platform?

The best way is subtle spamming through comments. You’ll need to register on the platform — and for proper testing, you’ll want multiple accounts. Complaints can get you banned fast.

Create full profiles, and if you want, upload some content — teaser videos for example. These can later drive traffic to OnlyFans, a very common scheme.

Here are the main strategies to consider:

  1. Comment spamming. Find popular videos and redirect traffic to your offer. Avoid direct links — they’re risky and can get your account banned. Instead, use phone numbers and funnel traffic through messengers. From there, you can handle leads manually or with a bot.
  2. Profile description ads. Another solid option is creating a model profile. Like on TikTok, publish comments and videos. Users click through to your profile and see a link like “full exclusive videos,” which leads to your offer. It’s best to “hide” the offer behind a pre-lander or even a messenger funnel.

If you’re going the full channel route, you can even use AI-generated adult content. The platform is fairly tolerant toward it. If you’re unsure what to upload, find a porn-generating AI and start posting the results. Then just redirect viewers to your offer.

Conclusion

Obviously, this is FAR from a full list of strategies to get traffic from Pornhub. But the point here was to show not just how you can drive leads from the “yellow YouTube,” but also why it’s a source worth your attention in the first place.
